The Refuge: Looking Forward

Our Mission

We desire to be a refuge to the broken, the weary, and fellow sojourners as we follow Jesus and reflect his message of forgiveness, hope, wholeness, restoration and rest in a broken and weary world.

The Frase Five have had a full year adding Dietrich, our fluffy puppy to the mix. Declan aka Duck keeps us on our toes and is currently obsessed with Spider Man, Wes started kindergarten and wants to be a director and scientist all inspired by Pokemon, and Emma is in 3rd grade and playing the piano and writing songs.

SHORT TERM GOALS

With the season that we are in as a family, the reality is that we are taking baby steps towards the ministry that we feel called to. So, what does this practically look like? Relaunching the When Narratives Collide podcast in 2022. Writing Thursday’s Thoughts, a new part of our website. Rachael continuing to work on her Masters Degree. Becoming rooted in a local church. Hosting and facilitating small group gatherings to fellowship, converse, pray, and encourage each other, both in person and virtually.

Finally, we hope to purchase a home in the Lancaster area. We feel called to become rooted in this place and trust God in that process, and trust his leading, along the path He has called us upon.

LONG TERM GOALS

Our hope is to one day found a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry named The Refuge, which would be a physical location, serving as a place of safety, rest, and provision for Christians and non-Christian sojourners, where needs my be met, and people may be cared for and prepared for their journey. The Refuge will be a place where hospitality and compassion are extended, and the gospel proclaimed and lived out. It will be a place where the stranger and the friend are welcomed equally and unconditionally. It is our ultimate desire that our lives and The Refuge will point people to Jesus, who is our only hope and the true refuge in this world. Christ alone offers the forgiveness, rest and home that our hearts desire.
