Summer Update

A Long Obedience in the Same Direction

Eugene Peterson wrote a book on the topic of Discipleship called A Long Obedience in the Same Direction. As we reflect upon this season of training and the call to follow Christ this is often the phrase that comes to mind. This season of preparation for future ministry often feels long at times but we know that it is in the small steps of obedience and faithfulness that we discover what it means to follow Jesus. Thank you for walking this long road of with us! Scott has earned his M.A. in Theology and M.A. in Old Testament and now Rachael will pursue a Master of Divinity degree through Fuller Theological Seminary in September.. We are not done and we still value your partnership on this journey and in the ministry that God has called us to.

Emma starts first grade this fall and Wesley is now three.

Prayer:

  • We need larger living quarters. We are currently living on Campus at the seminary in a two bedroom apartment. We would love to have a larger place for our family of five that can serve as a place of rest and hospitality.

  • Finances for Rachael to complete her degree. We were fortunate and blessed for Scott to finish his degree without debt and we would love to return to ministry unencumbered by such burdens. Thank you to everyone who has given already to make this possible!

  • Clarity for what this next season of life looks like as we continue to serve the church and also are still in a season of training.
