A Home of Hospitality

The entirety of our marriage Scott and I have lived in everything from a motel room at a missions campus, an apartment, a room at our parents house for a season, and now in a small apartment on the campus of a seminary with three small children. Walking in faith when you are called into the vocation of ministry is not always easy especially as you walk the road of obedience to where God calls you. We have always been blessed and all our needs have been more than met but in the last few years our heart have started to yearn for a larger place for our family of 5 and that our home would be able to be a place of hospitality and ministry. On October 1st we get to move into the first house we will have ever rented as a family! Our kids have never had a backyard, we have never had more than one bathroom and I can’t even remember how to use a dishwasher or what a garage is! This is a big step of faith for us as we have considered all the financial obligations as our costs of living will double. We have asked for prayer and counsel and have felt like we are to make this move knowing that God wants this next season to be a place where our home is also a place we can minister to others, including our own kids. Thank you for praying with us for this need! Please continue to pray for financial provision for this place of ministry!

These are just a few of our boxes of books! Seminary has done wonders for our book addiction. We have been so blessed to live in this apartment and bring two of our kids home from the hospital here.

Women’s Day of Discovery Conference

I (Rachael) am so honored to be one of the speakers at this years annual Womens conference at our church. The topic this year will be “God’s Transforming Love.” Here is a small video summarizing some of what I will be talking about on September 28th! There will be three sessions. I will be speaking at Session One: Our Action Generated by His Action.
Lisa Larson will be speaking at Session Two on Love Conquers Fear and Jeanine Birdsall will be speaking at Session Three on Freed to Love. Come join us for a special day as we discover God's amazing love for us and how it transforms our lives. Please pray for me and the women that God would prepare our hearts as we meet together as God’s body.

School and Faith

This next week seems like a long awaited dream as I have wanted to return back to school for ten years now. And as the days draw nearer, so does my anxiety! How am I going to do this with three small children? Am I going to be able to balance family, ministry and school? Some days I can’t even remember my own children’s names how am I going to write coherent papers? How are we going to pay for school? And then I stop and remember, faith. God calls us to the hard and challenging but he doesn’t call us there alone. He calls us forth into His good promises and He walks beside us on the journey. Thank you for walking with our family as we continue to walk the road of faith and ministry. We are so honored to have people on this journey with us!
